Aims and Objectives:
   To provide specialization and expertise in the field of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology by training prepared minds under guidance of experienced faculty in the field.
To bring together in one place educational facilities of the highest order through didactic lectures, discussions, hands on work in the field so that the trainees are able to attain
self-sufficiency in the field of Allergies
After successfully completing the course, the trainees should be competent enough to manage, treat and understand all forms of allergic disorders

Scope of the course –
DAAI course is a Hybrid distant learning contact-based program (70% On line & 30% On site) suitable for physicians who deal with allergy patients in their day-to-day practice. This course incorporates interactive sessions on basics and advances of allergy, available tests and management in office practice. The aim of this program is to provide state of the art clinical training in allergy, asthma, immunology and related conditions to health care providers. We also aim to initiate quality research in the field of allergies.
Recognition – DAAI is conducted by International Asthma Services (IAS) Colorado, USA and Bharati Vidyapeeth, Pune, INDIA. The course has been endorsed by American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI) and co-sponsored by the Center for Global Health, University of Colorado, USA.
Eligibility criteria for applying DAAI course–
Following candidates are eligible to apply for DAAI :
•MD/DNB/Diploma completed in either of the following:
Respiratory or Pulmonary Medicine,  General Medicine
General Pediatrics, Preventive Medicine ,Dermatology,
ENT (Otorhinolaryngology), Immunology
MBBS students with a minimum of  5 years academic and clinical  experience 
Overseas candidates with equivalent qualification are also eligible for the DAAI after. recognition by National Medical Commission (NMC) or similar competent Indian authority

Selection criteria –

Selection to DAAI is based on set criteria as described below. The decision of selection committee will be final and binding to everyone and NO request for re-evaluation will be entertained by any candidate.
The selection criteria are:
Complete application including all the necessary documents
Requisite educational qualification for eligibility (as defined earlier)
Previous experience in the related field
Research papers, presentation and publications
Awards or honors received
Future aspirations after pursuing the DAAI 

Course curriculum –

‘Diploma Allergy Asthma and Immunology (DAAI)' is a 1-year Hybrid distance learning program (70% on line and 30% on site),  starting from Jan 1.2021.. Enrolled candidates will be given study materials including the prescribed Text book in the first PCS.  Details of each PCS session will be provided to the enrolled candidates.  Didactic on line lectures will be conducted at specified times every week throughout the course period. After each  session, candidates will be given pre-defined assignments related to course content. They need to complete these assignments and submit it to course director before the next  session. Each candidate has to present at least one journal club/scientific dialogue from the latest research in the field of allergy & asthma. There will be a revision session followed by exit exam during the final PCS. Attendance for all on-site and on line sessions is mandatory to appear for the Final examination and there is no exception to this requirement. All students will be required to select a particular topic of the subject for research and dissertation under the guidance of a mentor or advisor. 
Document verification
During the first PCS, you need to bring the following documents in original for verification. In case of non-availability of originals due to any reason, certified copies (by either Medical Superintendent of a Government hospital or Principal/Head of Department of post-graduation medical college/ hospital) may be considered. Documents needs to be verified on the first day of start of the course at the reception desk. No originals or copies are required to be submitted.
The documents needed for verification are:
MBBS degree certificate
Post-graduate degree/diploma certificate
Current valid Medical council registration certificate (Center or State)
Current valid passport (Both original & self-attested copy) – only for international candidates
 
Course Venue –
All the PCS sessions will be held at Kolkata (exact venue TBD)Students need to arrange their travel, stay, boarding and lodging by their own. DAAI  governing body will NOT be responsible for any of these issues

Faculty : Various national and international faculties will be available for teaching and interaction during DAAI course. There will be online sessions from experts across the globe. Specialists as faculty to be included during DAAI are the following:

Pediatric & Adult Allergy specialist
Immunologist
Dermatologist
ENT specialist
Ophthalmologist
Aero-biologist
Biochemist
Allied sciences (Rheumatologist, Hematologist, Statistician, Radiologist,  etc.)

Fee structure

The fee covers charges for tuition fee, supplies, exam fees (same academic year), course material, lunch during course days and convocation.

Total course fee (including GST) for Indian candidates (in INR): 1.25 lakh 
Total course fee for international candidates (in USD): 3000.00
Late Exit Exam fee for Indian candidates (in INR): INR 10000
Late Exit Exam fee for International candidates (in USD) USD 250

Payment can be made by demand draft or NEFT transfer. Further details will be communicated to enrolled candidates in due course of time
 
Fee refund policy
There will be NO refund of any part of fee, after submission, even if the candidate chooses not to join the course or discontinue in between due to any reason. The fee will NOT be transferred to another candidate account, if any candidate wishes to do so. In case of any unusual circumstance, the decision of DAAI  governing body will be final and binding to everyone

Stipend – There will be NO stipend given to the enrolled candidates.

Dispute settlement
The venue of the arbitration will be Chandigarh, India and Indian laws will be applicable. The Chandigarh, India court alone will have the exclusive jurisdiction to adjudication in case of any dispute.

How to apply:
Application forms will be available from our website: www.allergyimmunocourse.blogspot.com in September-November  each year for subsequent year academic session. Application form has to be downloaded , filled and mailed to the DAAI coordinator (Details in the Application form)

Documents to be submitted: Following documents need to be checked and submitted during application for DAAI course:
Complete application form
Latest CV/Resume
Self-attested copy of MBBS degree
Self-attested copy of Post-graduate degree/diploma
Self-attested copy of registration with medical council
Two recent passport size photos (for offline application only)
Application fee
Current valid passport copy – only for international candidate
 
Application fee:
For Indian candidates, the application fee of Rs.1000/- may be deposited  by cash/cheque/demand draft in favor of:  Allergy Asthma Educational & Research Initiative (AAERI) payable at Mysuru, Karnataka.

For international candidates, the application fee of  USD 50.00….
USD may be deposited online (at www.saahns.org)

Mode of completed application submission: Completed application forms along with other supportive documents (single PDF file of scanned documents in sequence) may be sent to  along with details of online fee submission. Forms needs to be downloaded, filled , signed and couriered to DAAI coordinator.  Specific details are in the DAAI application form.

Rejection of application form: Forms with incomplete information or missing supporting documents or nonpayment of application fee will be immediately rejected and will not be considered for further evaluation or selection. NO applications will be considered after the declared submission deadline

Selection process: Applications submitted up till November 15th 2023,  5 PM (IST) will be evaluated by selection  committee.  The selection committee may hold an interview of shortlisted candidates, in case of a tie based on selection criteria, in the month of December. The selection will be done at the discretion of the selection committee and the decision shall be binding for everyone. Final list of selected candidates will be displayed on our website www.allergyimmunocourse.blogspot.com by December 22nd 202, 05.00 PM IST as well as candidates will be individually informed (on their given mail id in the application form). Selected candidates need to accept or reject their candidature latest by                2022 5 PM IST by  email, failing which the candidature will be considered cancelled. In case of any rejection/cancellation (at any stage of selection process), candidates from waiting list will be invited to join the course.
* Due to the present COVID Pandemic situation, we have extended the application dates as well as the starting date of the DAAI course. The revised start date is  January 2024
